Sometimes, I dream about having arms like our FLOTUS, the amazing Michelle Obama. But you know what, at this point in my life that just isn’t going to happen overnight and without lots of hard work. So, until my transformation occurs, I’ll just shrug it off.
When its incredibly hot outside and I’m sweating bullets, is really the only time you’ll see me carelessly flaunting my less than perfect arms. But for those cold winter days and spring nights, I’ll just shrug it off.
Wikipedia defines the shrug as: “A cropped, cardigan like garment with short or long sleeves, typically knitted and for women. Shrugs are worn as the outermost layer of an outfit with a full shirt, tank top or dress beneath.”
May God bless the person who designed the shrug!!
A few ways to wear your “little sweater” or shrug:
- Purchase a dressy shrug for an evening out on the town. These pieces are available in bolero styles, faux fur, sheer fabrics, sequins or embellishments for that extra flair.
- Experiment with a shrug that has a tie off to create a new look. Nix the front bow or knot and opt for a tie off in the back or to the side.
- Don’t be afraid to mix textures and fabrics to minimize the drab and monotone. Instead of going for fabrics and colors that match, choose contrasting materials and patterns to add some jazz to your fit.
Hope this assists you on your journey of style!
Until next time, love and light!
